Carolina Panthers could sign Jason Pierre-Paul

Finding some pass-rushing help is something the Carolina Panthers have to do after losing Haason Reddick to the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency. The Temple product made a significant impact on the team with 11 sacks, which will be hard to replace unless someone like Yetur Gross-Matos makes an astronomical leap in production.

Perhaps finding another veteran free agent to plug the gap would be wise. Especially considering what’s expected to be at stake for head coach Matt Rhule next season if things go south again.

It’s something of a surprise to see Jason Pierre-Paul still sitting on the market. Although that might change now that Tom Brady is back and recruiting heavily for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following the shortest retirement possible.

Pierre-Paul might be on the tail-end of his career and his production dipped significantly from 12 games last time around. But there are few who’ve been as consistent over the years and the former South Florida stud could provide short-term stability and a veteran for young defensive linemen to learn from.

Much would depend on the finances involved. However, Pierre-Paul is an All-Pro, a three-time Pro Bowler, and a two-time Super Bowl champion, so the benefits of signing the player are obvious providing he still has the desire.
