Carolina Panthers could sign Blake Jarwin

One of the more surprising moves made by the Carolina Panthers this offseason was bringing back Ian Thomas. The tight end hasn’t featured much in the passing game of late, although new offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo clearly feels like he can get the former fourth-round pick back on track in his system.

Hopes also remain high that Tommy Tremble can make some strides into a complete package during his second season. But it might be worth Carolina acquiring another piece to compete in training camp with a view to potentially earning a roster spot.

Blake Jarwin has an untold amount of potential once up a time. But injuries have ravaged the player’s chances over the last two seasons and it was probably right for the Dallas Cowboys to go in a different direction.

Perhaps a fresh start is all Jarwin needs. The Panthers represent one of the better chances to gain meaningful targets if Thomas doesn’t show enough and the former Oklahoma State standout should be willing to accept a team-friendly, incentivized deal to further sweeten the pot.

With a 73.7 percent catch success rate throughout his career, Jarwin is a reliable presence across the middle when healthy. Keeping on the field will be the biggest challenge for anyone taking a gamble before training camp.
