Efe Obada – Former Carolina Panthers DL

Efe Obada’s story is absolutely inspirational. The defensive lineman was homeless on the streets of London as a child and thanks to incredible determination, carved out a hugely successful NFL career for himself.

The Carolina Panthers let Obada walk in free agency last year for the Buffalo Bills, where he performed really well from a rotational role. This was another big step in the right direction for the Nigerian-born player, who is another that rejoined his former head coach Ron Rivera on the Washington Commanders.

Rivera knows exactly what the lineman brings to the table, which is sure to assist with the transition. Washington’s defensive front is absolutely loaded with former first-round selections, but there’s nothing to suggest that Obada cannot make his presence felt with so many gifted performers around him.

Obada is still loved by Carolina’s fanbase and takes absolutely nothing for granted. A trait that will serve him well as he joins a defensive line that also consists of Chase Young, Montez Sweat, and Johnathan Hankins.

While Obada is unlikely to start for the Commanders, the powerful player has already proven beyond all doubt that he can maximize his production when called upon.
