Carolina Panthers could draft JoJo Domann

Although the Carolina Panthers picked up Damien Wilson and Cory Littleton in free agency, they could bring in another development linebacker if the two veteran pieces fail to meet their objectives. Luke Kuechly’s production is still sorely missed two years after the legendary figure’s retirement, but maybe it’s third time lucky for the organization after striking out on both Tahir Whitehead and Jermaine Carter.

It’s unlikely that the Panthers will end up picking a linebacker at the top-end of the draft. It’s not a pressing need anymore, so waiting until there is a little more value is probably the best avenue to pursue.

JoJo Domann is generating some real momentum at just the right time. The athletic second-level defender tested well at the NFL Scouting Combine and even though there is work to do, the prospect comes with high athletic traits and brings outstanding football IQ to the table for good measure.

One area where Domann excels is in coverage. He was often tasked with covering slot receivers during his time at Nebraska, which has led many analysts to suggest that his best position might be on the backend when it’s all said and done.

Domann remains a little raw in terms of tackling technique and pass-rushing moves. But if he is available when the Panthers pick in Round 4, then it’s something to consider with the future in mind.
