Christian McCaffrey is still on the Carolina Panthers after some trade speculation how has the organization helped the All-Pro running back this offseason?

Despite the trade talk linking Christian McCaffrey with a move away from the Carolina Panthers this offseason, it was never really going to happen. The salary-cap implications regarding dead money coupled with the front office reportedly wanting a first-round pick and more for the running back meant that no team was going to take the plunge with such an astronomical package, leaving the All-Pro shouldering plenty of responsibility once again in 2022.

McCaffrey has been performing at a high level when on the field and remains one of the best dual-threats anywhere in the NFL. However, appearing just 10 times over the last two seasons thanks to various injury complications has many wondering whether this is the start of a concerning trend for the Stanford product after an iron-man opening to his career.

It’s clear something has to change regarding McCaffrey. Whether that’s giving him less responsibility or making sure his relentless approach shifts slightly during the week remains to be seen, but the Panthers can ill-afford more complications on the health front if they want to stand any chance of making real progress in 2022.

This will be something McCaffrey is also fully aware of. The talk of paying running backs substantial sums given the risk involved has put a new cloud over the player lately, so the only way he can silence these doubters is by putting a consistent run of games together and continuing his elite level of performance for good measure.

With this in mind, here are three ways the Panthers have helped McCaffrey in a big way this offseason.
