If the Carolina Panthers do end up selecting a quarterback prospect in 2022, there are some obvious red flags that could emerge.

It’s probably coming down to two positions for the Carolina Panthers at No. 6 overall unless something drastic happens before the 2022 NFL Draft. A strong period of recruitment in free agency has opened a slight window of encouragement, but the holes at quarterback and left tackle are glaring and could end up holding the team back during a critical upcoming campaign.

This is something the Panthers are already aware of. General manager Scott Fitterer addressed both spots throughout recent media availability, but which way the organization is going to go remains to be seen.

Obviously, in an ideal world, there would be a Trevor Lawrence sitting there to attack. Or more realistic would be an elite blindside protector such as Evan Neal or Ikem Ekwonu falling out of the top five.

Taking a quarterback at No. 6 overall is seen by many as a major gamble this year. The group has come in for some unfair criticism, but there does appear to be some momentum building around Malik Willis, Kenny Pickett, and Matt Corral – the three signal-callers Carolina has reportedly given first-round grades according to Jonathan Alexander of the Charlotte Observer.

With that being said, here are three red flags the Panthers might encounter if they opted to go in this particular direction.
