5 Panthers players with emerging importance after free-agent moves

Brady Christensen – Carolina Panthers OL
A complete overhaul of the offensive line was an absolute necessity for the Carolina Panthers this offseason. Things went depressingly as expected for the underperforming unit last season, with only stud right tackle Taylor Moton emerging from the campaign with any semblance of credit.
In fairness to the Panthers, things could be much better thanks to the additions of Bradley Bozeman and Austin Corbett – two experienced performers who played huge roles for their respective teams in 2021. They still need to find a productive left tackle either in free agency or the 2022 NFL Draft, but the organization is definitely on the right track with a more methodical approach to recruitment this year.
Despite these signings, one suspects that Brady Christensen might also have a bigger part to play during his sophomore season. The Panthers mismanaged his reps through pure stubbornness more than anything else, which stemmed from concerns surrounding his arm length rather than focusing on the positives.
Christensen performed well when finally installed at left tackle. But even if Carolina opts not to put him there long-term, occupying the left guard position is well within the player’s capabilities.
Regardless of where the Panthers plan to utilize Christensen, expect him to be a strong candidate for a starting berth and finally get a position he can stick with.
