What trades could the Carolina Panthers potentially make before the all-important 2022 NFL Draft rolls around?
We are now just a few short weeks away from the 2022 NFL Draft and the Carolina Panthers have some pivotal upcoming decisions to make. It’s been an encouraging period of free agency for the organization, with some useful additions coming in to strengthen a roster that is still loaded with exciting talent across the board.
Some key veteran pieces have departed such as DaQuan Jones and Haason Reddick, which isn’t ideal. But the main complications surrounding the Panthers right now is just what the team is going to do at arguably the two most important areas on offense.
The Panthers have been crying out for a franchise left tackle since the days of Jordan Gross. Many have attempted to fill the void with little success, so the sooner Carolina finds the right solution to this ongoing problem, the better their chances next season will be.
Then there is the issue at quarterback. Those in power have decided that Sam Darnold can no longer be trusted long-term after a failed trade from the New York Jets, Cam Newton is weighing up his options and the Panthers also have P.J. Walker for depth purposes after the former XFL MVP candidate signed a one-year extension.
Carolina cannot go into the season with Darnold and Walker. Taking a quarterback from this batch of college recruits at No. 6 overall is a reach, but there is also the prospect of someone coming in via trade or free agency before that.
With this in mind, here are five trades the Panthers could make before the 2022 NFL Draft.
