Carolina Panthers have met with Kenny Pickett
There was a significant amount of speculation surrounding Kenny Pickett and the Carolina Panthers that remains to this day. The former Pittsburgh standout has been heavily praised by Matt Rhule and Scott Fitterer during the offseason and in the head coach’s case, their relationship goes back to college when the signal-caller originally committed to Temple before other offers started pouring in.
Pickett met with the Panthers at the NFL Scouting Combine and is also reportedly going to attend a private visit in Carolina. Although some fans wouldn’t be thrilled with having the prospect on board, it’s a realistic option and one those in power will undoubtedly consider depending on how the board plays out.
The way Pickett performed in 2021 was exceptional. He is a smart decision-maker, boasts encouraging athleticism, and has enough arm talent to succeed in the pros to further enhance his status.
However, there are some concerns about Pickett. The big question centers on whether his production during the previous campaign is the start of something great or a flash in the pan based on how underwhelming he was during his first four seasons in college.
This is a franchise-shifting call for the Panthers. But make no mistake, Pickett is definitely in play.
