What are some tough challenges that remain for the Carolina Panthers during what’s been a very eventful offseason period?
The Carolina Panthers have put together an impressive offseason period to date. Some established stars have left for pastures new, but their roster does have a little more balance right now than the one that concluded the 2021 campaign with 12 defeats in their final 14 games.
This was absolutely critical considering how much pressure is now on Matt Rhule. Team owner David Tepper ignored the calls to remove the head coach from the equation, but the billionaire will want his faith repaid at the earliest possible opportunity next time around.
There’s been a different approach to recruitment in free agency. A more methodical way of acquiring talent that hasn’t broken the bank was extremely welcome and could be the recipe for success moving forward.
However, much work is still to be done before training camp begins. Here are four tough challenges remaining for the Panthers this offseason.

Carolina Panthers must figure out their draft approach
We are just a few short weeks away from the 2022 NFL Draft and it remains to be seen just how the Carolina Panthers are going to approach matters early on. There is an obvious temptation to select the best player available, go with a position of need, or even trade back from No. 6 overall for additional capital should the opportunity arise.
Scott Fitterer maximized the value of his draft-day trades more than any other general manager in 2021, according to Pro Football Focus. With just one selection in the top-130, it’s something to keep a close eye on and there’s is just no telling what avenue Carolina pursues at this stage.
Influential figures within the organization are keeping a tight lip on their plans, which is the right call to make. But this only adds to the speculation among the fans and across the media.
