Which NFL Draft prospects expected to go on Day 3 should the Carolina Panthers potentially target during the 2022 selection process?

With ’30 visits’ happening across the league as teams try and finalize their draft boards, speculation is rampant about what direction the Carolina Panthers will go. They still need a left tackle that can solidify the position long-term and the prospect of reaching for a quarterback at No. 6 overall cannot be ruled out either considering how much Sam Darnold struggled during his first season with the franchise.

It promises to be a fascinating few days later this month. There isn’t a blue-chip signal-caller such as Trevor Lawrence guaranteed to go No. 1 this time around, which has brought some real unpredictability to the top five before the Panthers go on the clock.

As it stands, the Panthers have only one pick in the top-130, so Carolina also has to figure out which college recruits lower down the pecking order could come in and make an immediate impression. Something that the team’s general manager Scott Fitterer is more than capable of doing based on recent history.

The decisions Fitterer, Matt Rhule, and others in positions of power make will go a long way to determining their aspirations in 2022. Although their free-agent signings and trade activity have been questionable, the same cannot be said of their draft selections since the former Baylor man took charge.

With that being said, here are five mid-round studs the Panthers must consider in 2022.
