Which quarterbacks could the Carolina Panthers potentially select to improve their options under center during the 2022 NFL Draft?

The Carolina Panthers haven’t exactly been quiet about their intent to find a potential upgrade on Sam Darnold this offseason. Influential figures within the organization have had their finger in almost every pie since the 2021 campaign came to a conclusion, with failed bids for Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson highlighting their aggressive approach in pursuit of attaining their third starting signal-caller in as many offseasons under the current regime.

Darnold can have no complaints, in all honesty. His production was subpar at best and even though triggering his fifth-year option with a guaranteed $18.85 million indicates he’ll still be on the roster barring a trade, there will be no more clear path to the starting job after failing to meet expectations.

With free-agent options limited, the Panthers are facing the prospect of going back into the trade market or selecting a player from the 2022 NFL Draft. This isn’t deemed to be the strongest class in recent memory, which obviously only complicates matters ahead of a critical Year 3 for Matt Rhule as head coach.

Carolina could be in a position to take one of the better signal-callers at No. 6 overall. But the franchise might also take this opportunity to finally solve their long-standing complication at left tackle, too.

That first hour of the draft is going to be a must-watch from a fan’s point of view. With this in mind, here are seven quarterbacks that the Panthers could draft in 2022.
