Panthers 2022 draft scouting report: Don’t sleep on Jamaree Salyer
By Dean Jones
Could the Carolina Panthers look toward Jamaree Salyer in pursuit of solving their offensive line struggles during the 2022 NFL Draft?
The Carolina Panthers are now in the final stages of figuring out just how they are going to approach the 2022 NFL Draft. They have multiple options available at No. 6, but with only one selection in the first 136, it’s imperative that the primary decision-makers within the organization get things right ahead of a crucial campaign for head coach Matt Rhule.
Carolina has some problem areas that will undoubtedly take priority. There is a hole at left tackle to fill and this might be the year that the Panthers reach for a quarterback in the first round after dismissing the likes of Mac Jones and Justin Fields last time around.
Should the Panthers decide to trade down in pursuit of additional capital, then it could leave them able to fill multiple holes rather than finding one talent atop the draft. If this scenario comes to fruition, then a prospect like Jamaree Salyer should come into the equation.
Salyer arrived at the evaluation process on the back of an outstanding 2021 season for Georgia. He was nothing short of exceptional and played a key role in the Bulldogs ending their drought en route to a sensational national championship success over fierce SEC rivals Alabama.
Although Salyer’s production was of the highest quality, he seems to be going relatively overlooked compared to other prospects at the position. But just why is that, exactly?
We took an in-depth look at Salyer to solve this riddle and see what he could bring to the Panthers next season and beyond.
