Which draft rumors surrounding the Carolina Panthers have been generating significant steam in recent days in the lead-up to their selections?

With just a few short weeks to go until the 2022 NFL Draft, rumors are currently swirling across the league. Visits are taking place, smokescreens are being put out by certain organizations, and plans are being finalized ahead of the all-important selection process later this month.

The Carolina Panthers have a lot riding on the draft despite not being blessed with much in the way of top-end capital. Some impressive free-agent signings mean there could be some progress next season, but this all depends on whether those in power can solve some concerning issues either during or shortly after the big weekend in Las Vegas.

It’s hard to know which way the Panthers are going to go at No. 6 overall. General manager Scott Fitterer is right to keep every available option on the table and if they knock their choice out of the park, then it’s another big positive step in the correct direction.

With this in mind, we scoured the internet for five Panthers draft rumors that simply won’t go away this spring.

Carolina Panthers still considering trade back

Scott Fitterer wasted little time in making a big impression following his appointment. Matt Rhule might get the final say on personnel moves, but the general manager’s smooth negotiating skills saw an unprecedented period of trade activity during the 2021 draft and some high-value selections that made contributions straight away.

The Carolina Panthers have just one pick in the first 136 selections currently after deals for Sam Darnold and C.J. Henderson. Something Fitterer might be keen to change and his body language when asked about trading back told its own story.

The question from Sheena Quick of Fox Sports Radio 1340 is a legitimate one. It’s likely that Fitterer would love to get his hands on more selections, but this is not a quarterback-heavy draft which complicates matters if the Panthers did choose to field calls.
