Who are the big winners and losers from what’s been an extremely eventful offseason period for the Carolina Panthers in 2022 so far?
So much has happened regarding the Carolina Panthers since the 2021 season came to a conclusion. Players have come and gone in free agency, the team is now gearing up for the 2022 NFL Draft, and there are also some dramatic things transpiring away from roster building that need to be monitored closely in the coming weeks for good measure.
The Panthers have done an outstanding job overall when it comes to recruitment. Established veterans were acquired relatively cheaply, key figures such as D.J. Moore, Donte Jackson, and Frankie Luvu were extended, and Carolina still has plenty of cash to throw around if another opportunity presents itself.
David Tepper is currently flexing his muscle with Rock Hill and pulling the plug on their new headquarters is now a realistic proposition due to a financial disagreement. The billionaire is also focusing heavily on his new soccer team for the time being, although he’ll look to put his influence to good use during that draft if history is any indication.
There are some clear needs to address sooner rather than later to give Carolina another boost. But overall, it’s gone pretty well all things considered.
With this in mind, we picked out three big winners and three losers from a very eventful 2022 offseason period for the Panthers so far.
