Which remaining free agents could the Carolina Panthers sign that would allow the organization to select the best player available in the 2022 NFL Draft?

The Carolina Panthers have turned their attention to the 2022 NFL Draft rather than looking at which free agents could potentially help the organization right now.

Those in power have done some solid work picking up productive veterans in key problem areas without breaking the bank during the spring. This leads many to believe they might have something up their sleeve regarding the quarterback spot via trade instead of reaching for a prospect at No. 6 overall.

Nothing has been decided as yet. The Panthers are currently doing their due diligence before coming up with a concise plan that can hopefully propel the franchise in the short and long term.

If the Panthers decide they want to move forward with the best player available mentality, then here are five available free agents that could allow them to go in this direction.

Carolina Panthers could sign Ereck Flowers

The Carolina Panthers could use some help on their offensive line. Acquiring Bradley Bozeman and Austin Corbett will help an untold amount, but signing another productive free agent could give Brady Christensen an extended run at the left tackle position so the coaching staff can truly see what they have in the former third-round pick.

Ereck Flowers has yet to sign anywhere else following his release by the Washington Commanders. The former No. 9 overall selection gave up six sacks and conceded two penalties from 1,061 snaps to secure an impressive 72.0 grade from Pro Football Focus last time around, so bringing him in for the short-term could be advantageous.

There is an obvious temptation to select an elite left tackle at No. 6. Something that finally provides a potential long-term solution at a position that’s becoming more frustrating with every passing year.
