Which tight ends could the Carolina Panthers potentially target during what promises to be a fascinating 2022 NFL Draft?

It is officially draft season and with that magical weekend where teams can make or break their future fast approaching, fans and writers are taking a deep look at each position and deciding which players would best fit in the current makeup of the Carolina Panthers.

This weekend will be quite difficult for general manager Scott Fitterer given the team’s lack of draft picks. The tight end position is considered okay if a below-average group for the Panthers heading into next season with a suspected sophomore leap from Tommy Tremble on the cards in 2022.

However, beyond him, there is little the team has to lean on. Even with a vote of confidence from newly minted offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo, Ian Thomas has never shown the ability to live up to his flash plays and consistently contribute. And while players like Colin Thompson have found a niche as a utility fullback hybrid, the team could use some reinforcements.

The biggest issue for the tight end room for years has been the passing game.

Ever since Greg Olsen left in free agency, the team has never had a player for defenses to worry about, to try and stop or double cover. This allows corners and safeties to hone in on D.J. Moore and others, making their lives much harder.

But with that said, here are seven tight end prospects the Panthers might want to consider when they get down to business later this month.
