Carolina Panthers could draft Malik Willis

  • Quarterback | Liberty

It’s easy to get wrapped up in the romance of evaluation processes in the lead-up to the draft. Momentum is important for prospects and displaying their physical attributes in a non-competitive environment is the best way for them to get noticed once their college campaign comes to a conclusion.

This is no player in this class who’s benefitted more than Malik Willis. The quarterback has all the traits that could see him become a hugely productive signal-caller at the next level, with his rocket arm, impressive athleticism, and infectious personality sending his stock through the roof along the way.

If someone falls in love with Willis, then they might trade up to take him in the top-10. Something that could come with long-term benefits providing that he’s allowed to develop at his own pace.

However, ignoring the film where Willis is concerned would be a mistake. There are clear decision-making issues and the prospect also needs to process information much quicker once he gets to the pros.

The Carolina Panthers need immediate help considering what’s at stake for head coach Matt Rhule in 2022. Willis could be a nice option for future years, but that is absolutely no guarantee and relying on Sam Darnold for another season is out of the question.
