Which 2022 NFL Draft prospects could be in play for the Carolina Panthers if they decide to trade back from No. 6 overall?

With just one pick in the first 136 selections, the Carolina Panthers will obviously look to acquire additional draft capital at some stage. General manager Scott Fitterer is a master manipulator when it comes to striking the right trade deal in this type of scenario, which could come by moving back from No. 6 overall or surging into Day 2 by giving up future assets.

Considering how important it is for the Panthers to make genuine progress in terms of results next season, a few gambles could be made during the draft. There is even the possibility of Carolina making another venture into the trade market for an instant problem-solver at the quarterback position.

All this adds to the usual intrigue that comes during the draft. A lack of stud prospects under center makes a slight shift down the pecking order more difficult, but not impossible depending on how things play out in the top five.

On this subject, we took a look at five exciting prospects if the Panthers do end up trading out of the No. 6 spot.

  • Offensive Tackle | Central Michigan

Finding a quality offensive lineman is absolutely critical for the Carolina Panthers during the 2022 NFL Draft. Standing firm at No. 6 if someone like Evan Neal, Charles Cross, or Ikem Ekwonu are around would be wise, but moving down brings others into the equation outside of the consensus top three prospects.

Bernhard Raimann is atop the second-tier and even though there are some questions about his arm length, the player is agile, powerful, and demonstrates the necessary footwork to be a big hit in the pros.

There is every chance Raimann can be coached up by James Campen. Although the Central Michigan product is a little inexperienced, the high physical traits will ensure he’s taken in the mid-to-late first round.
