Which Carolina Panthers players could be relied upon more by the coaching staff for valuable contributions when the 2022 season gets underway?

With all the talk centering on the 2022 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers returning to formal team activities has become something of an afterthought. Current roster members are back in the building for voluntary workouts, which is the first small step in what is another very important preparation period before the upcoming campaign.

The Panthers have a great deal of pressure on their shoulders next time around. Another season of abject failure will not be tolerated by a fanbase that has already lost all confidence in head coach Matt Rhule, so turning things around is absolutely critical for the former Baylor man and the organization overall.

In truth, it could go either way. There are some important upcoming decisions to make and much will also depend on whether certain individuals can make the necessary strides when the time comes.

With this in mind, here are four Panthers players who’ll be relied upon much more when competitive action begins in 2022.

Whether it’s at left tackle or on the interior has yet to be determined. But the Carolina Panthers will no doubt be expecting more from Brady Christensen in 2022.

The former third-round pick’s usage during his rookie campaign was frustrating. Matt Rhule’s insistence about the player’s suspect arm length was a microcosm of how Christensen was mismanaged in Year 1 of his professional career, but the addition of offensive line coach James Campen should come with a welcome shift in approach.

Much will depend on what the Panthers do at No. 6 overall. However, it would be a major shock if Christensen wasn’t starting right out of the gate.
