Carolina Panthers trade scenario No. 1

The simplest of the three trade scenarios is this one. The Carolina Panthers give up the No. 6 overall selection and next year’s first-rounder in exchange for Deebo Samuel.

The San Francisco 49ers will not give up their star unless the trade is too good to not accept. Giving up a valuable selection or two is not an easy pill to swallow, but the chances of that player being as good as Samuel is doubtful.

Defensive coaches around the league will have nightmares trying to game-plan against D.J. Moore, Christian McCaffrey, and Deebo Samuel on the same offense.

While losing the chance to draft a franchise left tackle stings, Brady Christensen, when he was playing last season, proved to people that he is a quality protector. And with other additions on the offensive line like Brady Bozeman and Austin Corbett, the unit will still be solid without another addition via the draft.

When discussing San Fransisco’s perspective on the trade, they will surely take something like this if the situation with Samuel became untenable. They will get a good player at No. 6 on a rookie contract and have another top selection in 2023 for good measure.

Something that any NFL team would love. And the Samuel saga in San Fransisco would end mercifully without the 49ers overpaying to keep a player who seems to want out.

Additionally, Carolina can still trade other players such as Robby Anderson to gain back some of the lost draft capital in a deal to attain Samuel.
