Carolina Panthers could draft Kellen Diesch

  • Offensive Tackle | Arizona State

Adding a premium offensive tackle to finally fill the blindside void left by Jordan Gross is an opportunity the Carolina Panthers might not be able to turn down from No. 6 overall. The key position has failed to be prioritized efficiently and unless this changes, it’s only going to complicate matters further for whoever is under center.

Of course, the presence of Evan Neal, Ikem Ekwonu, or Charles Cross on the board when Carolina goes on the clock would be extremely welcome. If those in power decide to go in a different direction, there are a number of other capable prospects capable of becoming NFL starters from a relatively deep class.

Kellen Diesch is a player that quietly went about his business at Arizona State. He is a little rough around the edges in terms of experience, but the player’s athleticism is absolutely off the charts and something that could become something more with additional coaching at the next level.

This is the sort of player Carolina’s new offensive line coach James Campen has thrived working with previously. Diesch has the size, length, physicality, and agility to make a real difference moving forward, although asking him to be a Day 1 starter would take the smoothest of adjustments.

Providing that Diesch brushes up on his technique, then someone is going to have a real player on their hands.
