5 former Panthers who should get signed quickly after the 2022 draft
By Dean Jones
Morgan Fox – Former Carolina Panthers DL
It was something of a surprise to see the Carolina Panthers make Morgan Fox a salary-cap casualty shortly before free agency got underway. Especially considering the chances of re-signing Haason Reddick were remote after those in power decided to let the former first-round pick out of Temple test the free-agent market.
Morgan was a well-respected member of the locker room who formed a key part of the defensive line last season. He took plenty of reps on the inside alongside Derrick Brown in obvious pass-rushing situations and provided a stable presence opposite Brian Burns from the defensive end spot to further enhance his overall influence.
There were times when the player struggled.
But in all honesty, he was not alone in that regard.
There hasn’t been much in the way of legitimate reported interest in Fox. However, if a team needs a strong rotational option that can adjust to multiple alignments, then it won’t be long before someone comes knocking after the draft.
Carolina needs some more help in terms of their pass-rushing options, too. Hopefully, they can find the right pieces during the draft, because replacing Reddick, Fox, and DaQuan Jones’ production in one go will be extremely difficult.
