4 bold predictions for the Carolina Panthers 2022 NFL Draft
By Dean Jones
What are some bold predictions for the Carolina Panthers during what is guaranteed to be an extremely eventful 2022 NFL Draft?
This time of year across the league is all about holding your nerve. For the Carolina Panthers, it’s also been about leaving every available draft option on the table and ensuring nobody outside of key personnel within the organization has an idea which avenue they are going to go down.
Scott Fitterer wasn’t giving much away during his pre-draft presser this week. Something which only added to the sense of intrigue surrounding Carolina at No. 6 overall.
Just what decisions those in power come up with will have some franchise-altering consequences for good or bad. And nobody will be hoping to emerge from the draft with hope more than head coach Matt Rhule.
Without further ado, here are four bold predictions for the Panthers during the 2022 NFL Draft.
Bold Prediction No. 1
Carolina Panthers hold firm at No. 6 overall
This might sound pretty obvious. But general manager Scott Fitterer won’t want to be sitting on his hands throughout Day 2 without a second or third-round selection to speak of, one suspects.
The Carolina Panthers might wait and see how things transpire in front of them before finalizing their move. If the right player is there and a team makes a sufficient offer, then trading out of the No. 6 overall selection is entirely possible.
However, if the opportunity to select a premier left tackle is staring Carolina in the face, then they would be wise to hold their ground and rectify a long-standing problem.
