Carolina Panthers must take advantage of any leverage

Having leverage is something every NFL team thinks they have. It’s whether they can make the most of it at crucial moments that separates the good organizations from the great.

The Carolina Panthers must use whatever leverage they have to their advantage throughout the draft. This can be done via trading up or down at the right time, maximizing compensation in these scenarios, and even making a bold bid for another veteran quarterback at a bargain price once their decision has been made at No. 6 overall.

Adding another signal-caller already in the league would give Carolina a better short-term fix than any of the quarterbacks in this class. Something that Matt Rhule definitely needs entering a 2022 season that will make or break his time with the franchise.

The Panthers showed their hand early last year when they moved for Sam Darnold. A mistake they have been keen to avoid this time around.

It’s going to be fascinating to witness this unfold. And the Panthers simply have to hit almost every decision out of the park.

Leverage is everything, here. If the Panthers feel like they can utilize any to their benefit, the better the team’s chances will be in 2022 and possibly beyond.
