Projected first-round pick Andrew Booth had a good individual campaign in 2021. He was one of the few standouts on an overall underwhelming Clemson squad.

He recently had surgery on a sports hernia injury, and this held him out from participating in both the NFL Scouting Combine and Clemson’s pro day. Despite this, Booth’s skillset and production are keeping his draft stock comfortably at the top end barring a large drop.

On tape, Booth shows off his footwork and play recognition on almost every snap. He is also a physical and willing tackler at the position – something that would be an added bonus and especially if he plays in the slot.

It is tough to precisely gauge Booth’s measurables outside of his size because of his unavailability during the evaluation process. But he is very rangy and can keep up with a lot of receivers in coverage.

Booth has a high floor because of his length, physical tools, and overall versatility he would bring to the professional level.

The Carolina Panthers will have to trade back in the first round if they want to select Booth without it being a massive reach, and other good players at higher positions of need will likely be available.

However, Booth is a good candidate for the Panthers if they believe C.J. Henderson is more of a No. 4 option or should they trade back from No. 6 overall to acquire more capital.

As unlikely as selecting Booth, or any other cornerback is in the first round, the stud cornerback would be well worth the pick if he is the best player available on the board.
