3 draft prospects generating late buzz for the Carolina Panthers in 2022

Carolina Panthers could draft Travon Walker
There appears to be a considerable amount of belief that the Jacksonville Jaguars will select Travon Walker at No. 1 overall. The Georgia defensive end might not have put up the lofty numbers of Aidan Hutchinson, but his physical intangibles could indicate more upside once he gets to the next level.
Nothing is set in stone, obviously, And it’s probably likely that the Jaguars have yet to come to a formal conclusion themselves with just a few short hours to go.
Walker is going to be a hot commodity and a guaranteed top-10 selection. However, if Jacksonville opts to go in a different direction then it might see the edge rusher take a slight drop as a result.
According to Natalie Miller from The Draft Wire, the Carolina Panthers are a team to watch if Walker falls into their laps and the top-three left tackles are already elsewhere.
The team lost Haason Reddick to the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency and although they do have Yetur Gross-Matos and Marquis Haynes, more might be needed to replicate some outstanding production from the former first-round pick during his one and only campaign in Carolina.
Slotting Walker opposite Brian Burns could provide the Panthers with a ferocious tandem capable of causing real havoc. But it would obviously leave them short in other areas that should be prioritized.
