4 elite traits Ikem Ekwonu brings to the Carolina Panthers

Ikem Ekwonu brings high character
One of the most glaring things to emerge from a dismal campaign for the offensive line in 2021 was a distinct lack of accountability. From Cameron Erving challenging the media at every opportunity, John Miller’s infamous “sacks happen” statement, and Dennis Daley’s “not my job” when discussing a missed assignment, it was evident that the Carolina Panthers needed a complete shift in approach moving forward.
Not only is Ikem Ekwonu an elite performer on the field. But he also brings extremely high character to the organization.
He is ferocious.
Driven, yet humble.
This is something that clearly impressed Matt Rhule and others within the Panthers, who finished their meeting in absolutely no doubt this was the guy for them providing the lineman was still on the board.
"“He’s a person that is going to step into this locker room, and our players are going to respect the way that he plays but also who he is. I think that visit was, I mean it was one of the best things that I’ve ever been a part of. We walked away like, wow, that’s a grown man.”"
This is only going to assist Ekwonu’s cause as the player looks to establish himself as a team leader quickly. Something that is well within his capabilities.
