6 exciting draft prospects the Carolina Panthers must consider on Day 3

Carolina Panthers could draft Kyle Philips
- Wide Receiver/Kick Returner | UCLA
Although the wide receiver room looks pretty crowded for the Carolina Panthers right now, there might be space for a prospect that can come in and also make an impression as the team’s kick returner. Alex Erickson was not brought back and unless the coaching staff plans to use one of their best weapons in this area, going down the college route is the smart way to go.
The Panthers might have some interest in someone like Kyle Philips now that two major holes have been filled. This would be a very useful acquisition given how dynamic he is in tight windows, but one suspects he will not have to wait much longer before hearing his name called.
Philips made the most of his increased responsibilities with the Bruins in 2021, bringing in 59 receptions for 739 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns during his fourth and final campaign at the college level.
His consistency in the return game is renowned. Philips is explosive enough to create separation in open space and has outstanding field vision that is sure to go down well in the NFL.
Much will obviously depend on what positions Carolina prioritizes early on Day 3. But bringing Philips on board seems like a realistic target in the circumstances.
