Carolina Panthers should fear Troy Andersen

It’s hard to look at the Atlanta Falcons’ draft picks in 2022 and not think they got a very decent haul. Problem positions were addressed effectively and the organization also got its hands on some outstanding prospects that could become devastating NFL players over time.

One example of this was seen as a gamble by many. But the physical attributes Troy Andersen brings to the table cannot be ignored providing there is a little more refinement to his game.

The linebacker tested extremely well at the NFL Scouting Combine and there could be a significant amount of progress to come given Andersen’s lack of experience playing the position.

Atlanta might utilize Andersen on special teams initially. But there is nothing to suggest the prospect isn’t more than capable of carving out a role on the rotation if he picks things up quickly.

Andersen’s Relative Athletic Score was one of the best-ever given to a player at the position. Atlanta should give him every chance at winning the starting job or a key rotational spot in training camp, which is something the Carolina Panthers should watch with interest.

The Panthers are looking to make strides on offense in 2022 thanks to the arrivals of Ikem Ekwonu and Matt Corral. Watching where Andersen is at all times will only help their cause and especially if he develops into what we think he could become.
