Carolina Panthers could sign Nick Foles

Nick Foles began his career with the Philadelphia Eagles when he was drafted in 2012 as a third-round pick. Since being drafted by the organization, the quarterback has also played for the St. Louis Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Chicago Bears.

Foles’ best statistical season came in year two where he had an eye opening 27 touchdowns and only two interceptions. He served as a backup last season and helped mentor Justin Fields in Chicago – something that could mean there is some interest on the market now that the Arizona product has been released.

Foles is potentially the best quarterback available in free agency and could possibly come into the Carolina Panthers and win the starting job.

The veteran has been there and done that, as he beat the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl in 2018, ultimately winning MVP with the Eagles. His play seems to elevate when he’s in the postseason, and Foles has proven that no moment is too big for him.

Foles has never been the starting quarterback for a team in the NFL for the entire season. If the Panthers did in fact sign him, he most likely would not have his first campaign playing in every single game.

He is a very solid veteran and his experience could be used in the Panthers’ quarterback room. This also represents a good fit in terms of winning a starting job until Matt Corral gets up to speed.
