Carolina Panthers could sign Ryan Fitzpatrick

There are many different aspects to look at when it comes to Ryan Fitzpatrick. In 2005, the Harvard graduate was drafted in the seventh round by the then St. Louis Rams, and he has played for nine different teams in his extensive professional career.

Throughout his career in most of the games he has played, Fitzpatrick was the starter. But the quarterback has only had a winning record three times.

Fitzpatrick has also started all 16 games in the regular season three different times in his career. His best campaign came in 2015 with the New York Jets where he recorded 10 wins and six losses while throwing for 3,905 yards with 31 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.

The much-traveled veteran was with the Washington Football Team last year and appeared in only one game as he ended up having a season-ending hip injury. He is a natural leader and seems to get the best out of his teammates more often than not.

The addition of Fitzpatrick would mostly be for a mentor role, and competition would not be expected all that much between him, Sam Darnold, and Matt Corral if the Carolina Panthers went in this particular direction.

As an unrestricted free agent at 39 years old, Fitzpatrick could choose which team he heads to next or might opt for retirement. This is probably the least likely scenario to occur of the four quarterbacks listed.
