Which Carolina Panthers players now find themselves on the 53-man roster bubble following the team’s impressive 2022 NFL Draft haul?

With the 2022 NFL Draft now firmly in the books, attention is already turning to what promises to be a fascinating offseason program for the Carolina Panthers. Rookie and mandatory minicamps are on the horizon, with the coaching staff getting ready to hopefully lay the foundations for what will be a successful upcoming campaign.

It’s been an encouraging offseason in terms of recruitment for the Panthers. Major holes were filled and there is now a genuine quarterback battle between Sam Darnold and Matt Corral, which will undoubtedly be the highlight of training camp in Spartanburg.

Carolina got their hands on six draft selections and a host of undrafted free-agent signings. All will be staking their claim in the coming weeks, which could leave some veterans nervously looking over their shoulders regarding depth chart spots.

With this in mind, here are five Panthers players who now find themselves on the roster bubble following the 2022 draft.

With Alex Erickson let go in free agency, there was probably some slight hope that C.J. Saunders could fill in as the team’s new kick returner in 2022 if everything went well this offseason. However, the Carolina Panthers moved swiftly following the draft to sign All-Pro Andre Roberts, which puts a significant dent in the Ohio State product’s plans.

The Panthers also acquired five wide receivers in undrafted free agency. Something that will make Saunders’ task even more challenging despite impressing the coaching staff last time around.

Saunders has his work cut out making the roster, in all honesty. But a place on the practice squad is well within his capabilities once again.
