Finding improvements on the offensive line has been done in an outstanding fashion by the Carolina Panthers since the 2021 season came to a conclusion. Some notable veterans joined the ranks in free agency and two more exciting prospects arrived via the 2022 NFL Draft, which could lead to some marked improvements in this critical area of the field as a result.

Obviously, this does not reflect well on current roster members. But their performances dictated that the Panthers did not have a choice ahead of a pivotal third campaign at the helm for head coach Matt Rhule.

Even though he was a prime candidate to be cut this offseason, the Panthers are willing to give Dennis Daley another shot at making the team and earning a prominent spot on the rotation. Something that’s been made more difficult with the presence of Austin Corbett, Bradley Bozeman, and Ikem Ekwonu, who instantly go above the former South Carolina star on the depth chart.

Daley’s lackluster consistency was another step in the wrong direction in 2021. He gave up three sacks and conceded an extraordinary nine penalties from just 573 snaps en route to a dismal 51.8 grade from Pro Football Focus, with his “not my job” quote enraging fans and outlining a distinct lack of accountability for poor performance.

The gauntlet has been laid down to Daley in no uncertain terms. If progress isn’t made, the Panthers will not hesitate to show him the door and save $1.04 million against their salary cap.
