Terrace Marshall Jr. – Carolina Panthers WR

Considering how high hopes were for Terrace Marshall Jr. right out of the gate, it was a bemusing and disappointing rookie campaign in equal measure. The wide receiver found life difficult and there was a clear lack of confidence to throw the football in his direction – which wasn’t what anybody anticipated.

The Carolina Panthers didn’t take Marshall at No. 59 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft for the LSU product to become a development project. They wanted him to stamp his mark right away, which he was unable to accomplish thanks to injuries and questionable route-running.

Giving up on Marshall so soon would be foolish. His productivity during his time with the Tigers was impressive and the athletic attributes of the player cannot be ignored despite his first-year complications.

This is a pivotal offseason for Marshall, who will need to stake his claim as the No. 3 receiver after the Panthers kept Robby Anderson around and also signed Rashard Higgins from the Cleveland Browns in free agency.

How he responds to adversity will tell us plenty about what sort of character lies within Marshall. If the wideout can put it all together and impress offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo, then a bounce-back campaign might be within reach.
