5 Carolina Panthers players who must earn bigger roles in 2022

Frankie Luvu – Carolina Panthers LB
After leaving the biggest of impressions during his first season, Frankie Luvu got a well-deserved extension from the Carolina Panthers and there is sure to be a bigger role for the player in 2022. This will come with extra attention from opposing offensive schemes, so it remains to be seen how the linebacker copes with an increased focus he’s yet to experience throughout his career.
Luvu was an absolute revelation for the Panthers last season. His energy and supreme instincts allowed him to be around the football consistently and, more importantly, come up with some huge plays on defense and special teams to further enhance his overall status within the locker room.
At a time when the Panthers needed it most, Luvu became someone that produced the goods consistently and also inspired others around him. Something that Carolina will need more of next season after letting Haason Reddick leave in free agency for the Philadephia Eagles.
This challenge is one that Luvu is sure to relish. And it’s also worth remembering that he was the only Panthers player to receive an All-Pro vote in 2021 – another substantial momentum builder for the Washington State product.
Losing Reddick was a blow. But if Luvu can earn a bigger role next season, the second-level will be better off for it.
