Carolina Panthers must earn the right for more primetime games
Unless a game later on in the season gets flexed, the Carolina Panthers have just one primetime game in 2022 against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football. Another clear sign that things haven’t exactly gone according to plan over the first two years of Matt Rhule’s tenure.
The days of Cam Newton and a plethora of established stars making Carolina a coveted primetime team is long gone. It’s time for the new young studs within the organization to carve their own path and earn the national spotlight moving forward.
There’s an easy way this gets fixed.
Winning.
There are enough players with the charisma and swagger within the locker room for the Panthers to be a media darling once again. But at the end of the day, being in contention is all that matters.
The more games matter, the more nationwide interest there will be.
Something that’s been almost non-existent for the franchise since Rhule took charge.
Perhaps there is a chance for Carolina to alter perceptions this season despite the clear challenges awaiting them. If they can do this and capture imaginations along the way, then some extra-national contests could be on the horizon in 2023.
