Carolina Panthers at Los Angeles Rams

  • Jaycee Horn vs. Cooper Kupp

This is the acid test.

A true measuring stick to what the Carolina Panthers can potentially expect from Jaycee Horn in the long term.

Taking on the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams on the road is going to be a difficult proposition. Especially considering the Panthers have accumulated just 15 wins over the last three seasons before and during the Matt Rhule era.

Although cornerback Donte Jackson will likely shoulder some of this responsibility, expect to see Jaycee Horn matched up against Cooper Kupp a lot. The wideout enjoyed a phenomenal campaign in 2021, becoming the first player to win the triple crown since Steve Smith did it for the Panthers.

Kupp is explosive, has outstanding hands, and is an elite route-runner. Simply put, he is the complete package and if Horn can hold his own, that is all the Panthers are probably looking for.

There is little any cornerback can do to completely thwart Kupp’s influence. Although he won’t have Odell Beckham Jr. and Robert Woods around, the Rams signed Allen Robinson, who looks a major threat in this system.
