Carolina Panthers have explosive playmakers on defense
Although the Carolina Panthers lost some key figures on defense this offseason, there remains a good amount of difference-makers that can play huge roles for the team in 2022.
Those in power within the organization have focused heavily on finding young, dynamic players that can provide the energy and explosiveness needed – something that can hopefully make Phil Snow’s unit one of the league’s best next time around.
Individuals such as Brian Burns, Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, and Jeremy Chinn could be set for huge leaps forward with the right development this offseason. There is also a nice veteran mix in the defensive group, with Donte Jackson penning a new deal and Shaq Thompson remaining at the second level.
Some intriguing young players were acquired via the 2022 NFL Draft who could secure depth chart roles over time. The likes of Frankie Luvu, Marquis Haynes, Xavier Woods, and Matt Ioannidis will also be an asset if everything clicks into place.
Carolina’s defense showed promise last season before tailing off thanks in no small part to little assistance on the offensive side of the football. If that side of the field can do its part, then this could allow Snow to take this group up yet another notch.
