Andrew Norwell – Former Carolina Panthers OL

Andrew Norwell played his college football at the prestigious Ohio State University. As a Buckeye, he spent time at every position on the offensive line except for the center spot.

He is massive at 6-foot-6 and 340 pounds, which gave him the versatility to play on the inside or on the edge. Norwell ended up being a first-team All-Big Ten Conference selection on two occasions, so there was a lot to like about his chances at the next level.

With Norwell’s impressive college resume, it seems shocking that he wasn’t drafted. The Carolina Panthers must’ve seen flashes of what the lineman could be and signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2014.

Norwell didn’t start immediately as a rookie but was pushed into the lineup during the second half of his opening campaign at left guard and impressed many. His ability to excel in blocking the run helped the Panthers to become one of the league’s best rushing offenses.

The player went on to be a quality starter for the team and even helped the Panthers reach Super Bowl 50. Norwell continued to improve and eventually was named first-team All-Pro in 2017.

He may have only been with the team for four seasons. But in that time, Norwell established himself as one of the best guards in the league.
