Ranking the top 5 most likely post-draft starting Panthers QBs in 2022

Matt Corral – Carolina Panthers QB
Asking Matt Corral to come in and start immediately would not be fair to the player. It might also cause some long-term complications for the Carolina Panthers if they throw the quarterback onto the field before he’s ready.
Corral has some tremendous upside and the Panthers felt like trading up to No. 94 overall for the Ole Miss product was a calculated gamble that could become something more over time.
The signal-caller has left a good impression over his initial time with the team and got all he could handle from new offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo during the recent rookie minicamp, which should help enormously ahead of training camp.
Scott Fitterer stated that the quarterback competition is open, which could indicate that there is a real battle upcoming between Corral and Sam Darnold. Something that will be a fascinating element to keep an eye on and especially if another player comes in at any stage.
Corral cannot do anything about any further incomings. What the third-round selection must focus on is getting better each day, gradually becoming a leader within the locker room, and developing chemistry with what practice and gameday reps come his way.
The player does need to see the field at some stage, one suspects. Especially considering how exceptional the 2023 draft class is expected to be.
