Which Carolina Panthers players will likely struggle to make the final 53-man roster for what is going to be a make-or-break 2022 season?

We are just a few short weeks away from the nitty-gritty of training camp and finding out just what the Carolina Panthers have at their disposal in 2022.

It’s been another incredibly active offseason period for the Panthers in terms of recruitment. This was expected after yet another five-win season – a third in succession for a team that seemingly cannot get out from under the cloud of mediocrity.

These impressive signings have to integrate quickly. There is also the presence of a brand-new coaching staff under Matt Rhule who all come with different ideas to take on board.

Things are going to be interesting with plenty of spots up for grabs. With that being said, here are four Panthers players who will struggle to make the roster next season.

Giving up a perfect passer rating when targeted was just one of many problems regarding Sean Chandler’s production in 2021. So it was something of a surprise to see the Carolina Panthers give the safety a new one-year deal this offseason.

Chandler is a former college player of Matt Rhule’s, which obviously helps based on recent history. But one would be hard-pressed to see a prominent role on the safety rotation or even a 53-man roster spot for the Temple product next time around.

Carolina picked up Xavier Woods from the Minnesota Vikings in free agency. Progression is also expected from Myles Hartfield and Kenny Robinson, so Chandler’s hopes appear bleak unless drastic improvements are made.
