Dennis Daley – Carolina Panthers OL

After another season of abject failure from Dennis Daley, it wouldn’t have been the biggest shock in the world if the Carolina Panthers had given up on this particular project this offseason. The former sixth-round pick was lackluster in protection and had some serious discipline issues at the line of scrimmage, with his distinct lack of accountability something else that enraged fans along the way.

Daley has the physical gifts. But there is clearly something missing and his nine penalties conceded from just 576 snaps indicate that concentration remains a big-time problem where the South Carolina product is concerned.

Even though the Panthers have done an exceptional job of strengthening the offensive line in free agency and the 2022 NFL Draft, Daley still finds himself on the team. But unless his standard of performance increases significantly in training camp, the chances of him making the 53-man roster are slim.

Carolina clearly feels like Daley has more to offer. It will also be interesting to see how the player responds to working alongside offensive line coach James Campen, who is widely regarded as one of the best in the business.

This is the last chance saloon for Daley. And make no mistake, there won’t be another opportunity if he fluffs his lines once again.
