What are the most important additions made by the Carolina Panthers throughout a busy offseason period so far in 2022?

Considering how perilous things are for the Carolina Panthers, it’s been an encouraging offseason period so far in terms of recruitment. Head coach Matt Rhule stayed on despite increasing pressure, but the coaching staff behind him received a significant makeover and the front office managed to strengthen playing personnel during free agency and the 2022 NFL Draft for good measure.

Whether this will be enough for the Panthers to make the necessary strides next season is unclear. There is still a huge question about the quarterback position and if Rhule cannot become a competent game-adjustor when competitive action begins, then it’s only going to complicate matters.

There could be plenty of twists and turns to come. Carolina also has the salary-cap space to potentially make another move or two should the opportunity arise.

Without further ado, here are the five most important offseason additions made by the Panthers throughout the offseason.

Ben McAdoo – Carolina Panthers OC

After the Carolina Panthers fired Joe Brady midway through the bye week, Ben McAdoo’s introduction has the potential to shake things up within a scheme that looks tailormade for the players at the team’s disposal.

The respected figure has wasted no time stamping his authority on proceedings, becoming hugely influential in recruitment and re-signing underperforming players such as Ian Thomas because he feels it’s the right thing for his system.

McAdoo’s voice was also the leading role in the Panthers selecting Matt Corral, who has all the tools needed to become the team’s long-term starter under the offensive coordinator’s guidance. This has the scope to transform Carolina completely, but everything has to go well early on.
