Can Matt Rhule make adjustments?

There is no shortage of pressure on head coach Matt Rhule next season. The head coach has celebrated just 10 wins since joining the Carolina Panthers on a seven-year, $62 million deal and another campaign of underachievement or worse could see major changes by team owner David Tepper in 2023.

That is for the future.

And Rhule would be wise to ignore all the criticism and speculation surrounding his status.

It’s been a period of self-reflection for many within the Panthers since the previous campaign came to a conclusion. Everything seems to be in position for a much better run of results, but Rhule must also make his own adjustments to finally get this team going in a positive direction.

Rhule took a lot of heat for almost non-existent in-game adjustments in 2021. Something that will need to change quickly for the Panthers to thrive when competitive action rolls around once again.

For all the talk of Rhule’s job status, there hasn’t been any sense of dissension within the locker room. This is something the former Baylor man has going for him and the presence of much more NFL experience within his coaching staff should also assist enormously.

If Rhule can assess, adjust, and have a little more conviction when it matters most, the Panthers could be on to something after all.
