Taylor Moton – Carolina Panthers OT

At long last, the Carolina Panthers finally got Taylor Moton some help along the offensive line during free agency and the 2022 NFL Draft. The stud right tackle was the one shining light throughout a miserable campaign on the protection last season and the front office deserves credit for finally prioritizing this key positional group with a view to improving matters.

Moton is now entering his sixth season and is easily one of the team’s best players. The Panthers rightfully tied the former second-round pick down long-term last summer and although there were some moments of struggle, his performances were generally of an extremely high standard.

The Western Michigan product gave up just one sack and conceded five penalties from 1,149 snaps for the Panthers in 2021. Moton earned a creditable 77.9 grade from Pro Football Focus as a result and there could be more to come with some substantial improvements at other offensive line positions.

Austin Corbett and Bradley Bozeman will sure up the interior after signing in free agency. The Panthers also got extremely lucky when left tackle Ikem Ekwonu fell into their laps at No. 6 overall in the first round of the draft.

This was a good step in the right direction. But the Panthers have to maintain this thought process and build around Moton – one of the most underappreciated tackles in the business.
