What potential scenarios could see the Carolina Panthers potentially contend for the NFC South divisional title during the 2022 season?

Even though the Carolina Panthers have worked hard to bolster their ranks this offseason, one would be hard-pressed to find many who believe they are capable of challenging for honors in 2022. In fact, even contending for a divisional championship is seen to be stretching things a little heading into Year 3 of Matt Rhule’s tenure.

The task awaiting Carolina remains a steep one. But there is enough talent across the roster to suggest improvements might be coming under the guidance of a revamped coaching staff with legitimate NFL credentials.

It’s been a landmark offseason within the division with plenty of comings and goings. Something that has provided the Panthers with a slight window of opportunity providing they get their own problems resolved in the coming weeks.

With that being said, here are four potential scenarios that could see the Panthers’ challenge for the NFC South title in 2022.

Carolina Panthers start fast and build momentum

If the Carolina Panthers want to achieve anything in 2022, it’s vital they get off to a fast start. Five of the first six games are on home soil and even though Bank of America Stadium hasn’t been a fortress of late, this is an opportunity that the organization cannot let slip away once again.

Of course, a good start doesn’t mean anything if the level of consistency is not there throughout the campaign. One only has to look at how Carolina lost 12 of 14 contests following their 3-0 start last season to see that.

Even if the chances are remote regarding a potential divisional challenge, anything less than an imposing opening in pursuit of building momentum would make things extremely difficult.
