Carolina Panthers get their QB decision right

As stated previously, the Carolina Panthers won’t stand a chance of attaining any sort of divisional title push if they do not get their own house in order first. Those in power did a nice job of recruitment this offseason to improve key positions such as the offensive line, but there is still a huge cloud hanging over the team’s options at the quarterback spot.

Sam Darnold remains the veteran starter and reportedly has “more edge” to him at OTAs according to head coach Matt Rhule. Carolina also traded up to acquire Matt Corral at No. 94 overall, who was the top signal-caller on their board and someone Ben McAdoo stated can become a unique player based on his evaluation during the recent Panthers Confidential documentary.

The Panthers are also still considering a move for Baker Mayfield based on multiple reports, although they are looking for the Cleveland Browns to absorb more of his fully guaranteed $18.85 million contract before this deal becomes a reality.

Everything else is seemingly in place for Carolina. Something that makes their decision under center even more critical before Week 1.

Scott Fitterer said he wants to be in a position to “drop in a quarterback and take off“. Should the Panthers go down the right route after so many poor decisions, then a surprise NFC South push is not entirely out of the question.
