D.J. Moore – Carolina Panthers WR

D.J. Moore was rightfully paid handsomely this spring for his exceptional consistency despite not having a stable quarterback almost from the moment he entered the league. The Carolina Panthers now need to do a better job of building around the Maryland product and making sure that this trend continues long into the future.

Moore’s production has been absolutely remarkable over the last three seasons, going over 1,000 yards every year and bringing his route-running on well during this span. Ben McAdoo’s scheme relies heavily on wideouts creating yards after the catch, which could see the former first-round pick take his game to new heights given the tools at his disposal.

Hopefully, others in the wide receiver room can take the necessary leaps forward and help Moore out. Carolina also needs to avoid overworking the player as we have seen countless times what happens to skill position players when they have too much on their plate.

Moore has missed just two games in his first four seasons with the Panthers. If the same transpires in 2022, the better Carolina’s chances will be of making ground on divisional and conference rivals.

It’s hard to envisage a situation where Moore ends up regressing next time around. But just who will be distributing the football from under center remains up in the air with speculation continuing about a potential trade for someone like Baker Mayfield or Jimmy Garoppolo.
