Carolina Panthers could target Julio Jones
There was perhaps no team happier than the Carolina Panthers when wide receiver Julio Jones was traded to the Tennessee Titans. He was a significant thorn in the team’s side throughout his time with the Atlanta Falcons and there was nobody shedding tears when his departure from the NFC South was officially confirmed.
Tennessee took the difficult decision to release Jones as part of cost-cutting measures this offseason. The future Pro Football Hall of Famer is still looking for a new home and although it seems highly unlikely, there is little doubt that the former Alabama stud would come in and start immediately for a team he’s torched over the years.
Jones has had some significant struggles staying healthy of late. He is also on the tail-end of his career and might be out of Carolina’s price range if they opted to put a call into his representatives.
However, putting Jones and D.J. Moore on the outside with Robby Anderson in the slot comes with endless possibilities. And that’s without considering the presence of 2021 second-round pick Terrace Marshall Jr.
The wideout is probably waiting for a contending team to make an acceptable offer. Something the Panthers could not guarantee by any stretch of the imagination.
